Daily Japan updates
A broad engineering role and an October job fair widen the search
A new sponsored software role and a JETRO event show two different routes into Japan’s international hiring market.
Developments
Two fresh signals widen the map for international candidates: one is a technically broad sponsored vacancy, while the other is a public online meeting point for job seekers and employers.
1. Solafune seeks a cross-domain engineer and supports relocation
Solafune’s Tokyo role lists ¥7–10 million, remote flexibility, applications from abroad and overseas visa sponsorship. It also asks for fluent Japanese, business English and at least three years of development experience across areas that may include AI, data, cloud and security. The listing is unusually broad, so candidates should match the actual language and delivery requirements rather than the relocation badge alone. (Open page)
2. JETRO schedules an autumn online job fair for global talent
JETRO’s HR portal added an announcement for an online joint company information event running October 13–16. Earlier program details indicate roughly 160 participating companies and Japanese as the planned event language. It offers reach across regions, but attendance is only a discovery channel: employer-specific roles, sponsorship and selection terms still need checking. (Open page)
What to take away
International access is expanding through both individual vacancies and organized matching events, but neither removes the need to verify Japanese level, sponsorship, seniority and the employer’s current process.
