Two senior engineering openings sharpen the international search

Two newly listed Tokyo engineering roles combine international hiring with different language, seniority and relocation conditions.

Developments

International candidates have two concrete engineering signals to compare: one role is broad and visa-friendly, while the other sets a more specific senior backend profile.

1. Solafune lists a broad senior role with Japan-wide remote work

Japan Dev lists a Tokyo-based senior software engineer role at ¥10–13 million a year, remote anywhere in Japan, with overseas applications and visa sponsorship. It asks for fluent Japanese, business English and five or more years across AI, software, data, cloud or security. This is a strong lead, but a mutable job-board page is not a confirmed offer. 2. ANDPAD advertises a senior Ruby on Rails path for overseas applicants

TokyoDev lists ANDPAD’s senior Ruby on Rails developer role at ¥7–12 million. It accepts applications from abroad and describes relocation support, while asking for conversational Japanese, business English and at least five years of experience. The stack is more specific than Solafune’s, but the seniority bar remains high and the live page must be checked. Open page 1

What to take away

Compare the full package, not only salary: language, seniority, remote geography and sponsorship determine whether a role is genuinely accessible.
