1. MEXT updated the institutions covered by higher-education support
The September 2 page publishes newly confirmed universities and other institutions and links to lists issued by MHLW and local governments. Appearing on the list is only one condition; it does not decide a student’s award, household eligibility or deadline. (Open the page)
2. Selected households may be contacted for the 2026 health and nutrition survey
MHLW says appointed local public officials will visit selected households. The survey can include a food record, step count, measurements, blood tests and a lifestyle questionnaire, with part available online using credentials distributed by the surveyor.
